History of Wilton
Fred Wilkinson was a New Hampshire native who graduated from Wilton High School
and Keene Teachers College (now Keene State College). In 1956, as a thesis for
his Master’s degree in Education, he wrote a history of Wilton, "designed to be
used as a text for the study of local history in the Wilton Fourth Grade". This
History of Wilton is much easier reading than the formal history of the town and
also provides accounts of "contemporary" Wilton.
