Description: | Join us for an evening of poetry and discussion with US Poet Laureate Joy Harjo. Joy Harjo is a member of the Mvskoke/Creek Nation and was appointed the 23rd US Poet Laureate in 2019. She is currently serving in her third term and is the first Native American to hold the position. Born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, she is an internationally renowned award-winning poet, writer, performer, and saxophone player. Harjo is the author of nine books of poetry including her most recent, An American Sunrise (2019).
