Summer Reading Activities for Kids

Stories in the Park Tuesdays @ 12:30

Need a break? Come relax in the park and listen to stories. Feel free to bring your lunch or a snack. All ages welcome.

Mother Goose on the Loose Wednesdays @ 10:00

An early literacy program for children from birth to three with their parents or caregivers. Mother Goose on the Loose uses a variety of activities such as rhymes, songs, puppets, and instruments to foster speech development, motor coordination, confidence, and sensitivity to others.

Discovery Buddies Thursdays @ 10:00

Team up with your preschooler to read together and enjoy creative activities. Keep a reading log of books you’ve read together, and come in for Stories and Crafts on Thursday mornings at 10:00.

Mad Science Craft Activies Age 6-12 Thursdays @ 3:00

Come to the library each Thursday at 3:00 for a theme related activity (see calendar for details). While you’re here show us your reading log and check-out a book. Registration Required (Ages 6 to 12).

Science Saturdays @ 10 for ages 5-10, @ 11:30 for ages 11-14

Come to the library each Saturday from 10:00-11:00 for science fun (Ages 5 to 10)or 11:30-12:30 (Ages 11-14).

6/28 Talkin’ Trash – This activity focuses on the environment and recycling. Children will be participating in a Recycling relay.

7/12 Chemical Chaos – Children will learn about pH, create their own pH indicator strips, and test products that are typically found around the house.

7/19 Water, Water Everywhere– Children will predict then test objects to see if they sink or float. At the end they will try to see if they can get a ball of clay to float.

Stuffed Animal Sleepover Wednesday July 16, drop off @ 5:00-6:30

Bring your favorite stuffed animal to the library for a sleepover. Tuck your buddy in bed for them to spend the night at the library. Pick them up in the morning at 10:00 and see what kind of night time adventures they had in the library! Your buddy will come home with pictures from their library adventure so you can share the fun! Registration Required (Ages 3 and up). Pick up at our Stuffed Animal Sleepover Brunch, Thursday, July 17 @ 10:00
