Book awards and organizations in alphabetical order:

• The American Library Association  offers an extensive list of book, print, and media awards. 
• Booker Prizes are awarded to books published in the UK and Ireland, and international books translated into English and published in the UK and Ireland.  
• Edgar Awards are prestigious awards in the mystery genre, sponsored by the Mystery Writers of America. 
• Hugo Awards honor individual works, artists and serial publications in science fiction.  
• Lambda Literary champions LGBTQ books and authors 
• The mission of the National Book Foundation is to celebrate the best literature in America, expand its audience, and ensure that books have a prominent place in American culture.
• The National Outdoor Book Awards honor the best in outdoor writing and publishing. 
• Since 1901, the Nobel Prize in Literature has been awarded annually to an author from any country who has, “in the field of literature, produced the most outstanding work in an idealistic direction”

• The Greatest Books Of All Time list uses an algorithm to create a weighted master list from over 100 other book lists. 
• The Notable Books Council has a yearly list of 25 adult fiction, non-fiction, and poetry books. 
• The Over the Rainbow Fiction and Poetry List is a top ten list showcasing LGBTQ+ stories and experiences across all genres. 
• The Reading List Council offers a book list comprised of eight different genres for adult readers and includes short book reviews and read-alikes.
