WiFi, Computers, and Chromebooks

Wifi is available in the library, as well as in the parking lot and on the library grounds.  Select public-library in your settings; no password is required.

The library is working to expand public access wifi to the Police Department parking lot and Wilton Riverwalk with funds provided by a CARES grant.

If you need to use a computer, the library offers several options.  Computers are available inside the library for individual use for up to 30 minutes. Chromebooks are available for checkout and can be reserved here.  You can opt for a two hour check-out period for use in the parking lot or on the grounds, or you can check-out for a 1 week period for home use of the equipment.  You will be asked to sign a contract at the time of checkout, assigning responsibility and acknowledgement of the library’s computer use policies. Headphones and mice are also available for checkout.

With telemedicine becoming more popular, using a Chromebook in the library parking lot is an option allowing for privacy as well as connectivity.

Printer, Copier, and Fax

During open library hours, the public printer and copier are available for use.  Documents can be sent to the printer from personal or library devices using library WiFi. Documents may also be scanned, and copier assistance is available as needed.

Charges for printing are $0.25 a page for black & white copies, or $0.40 a page for color copies.  Fax charges are $1.00 per page, not including a free cover page.

Wilton students who need copies for homework may copy five pages at no charge from any book, or may print five pages in black & white or two pages in color from an Internet source for free.

If you are planning to print photographs, you may want to consider an online service where an account is free and shipped to your mailing address within a few days.  Many services offer specials throughout the year, making it a much more affordable option with a more durable, photo-quality print.  Ask at the circulation desk about options for printing photos.
