The Wilton Historical Society is located on the top floor of the Wilton Public and Gregg Free
Library building at 7 Forest Road in Wilton, New Hampshire. The Historical Rooms
house numerous artifacts and documents encompassing Wilton’s intriguing past. The
rooms are open to the public every Thursday between 1:30 and 5:00 p.m., and the first
Saturday of each month between 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., unless the library is closed
due to bad weather or holidays, etc.
The Historical Society meets the second Thursday of September, November, April, and
June at 6:30 p.m. in the Historical Rooms. The public is welcome to attend. Programs are
presented at each meeting, covering subjects related to Wilton’s history.
Historical research assistance: We welcome inquiries from the public on historic or
genealogical matters relating to Wilton. Please feel free to contact us via e-mail at

We ask for your patience; we are staffed solely by volunteers who generously give their
time to the Society. While we try to answer inquiries promptly, it may occasionally take a

We are a 501 C 3 organization. WHS doesn’t receive any funds from the town’s budget.
We rely on membership dues and donations to cover operating expenses.
Membership: Anyone interested in learning about and preserving Wilton’s history is
encouraged to join Wilton Historical Society. Dues for July 1, 2022 – June 30, 2023 are
$10. Starting July 1, 2023, dues will be $15.00 annually.
